Follow these steps to get the project up and running on your SharePoint 2007 environment:
  1. Add the solution to your SharePoint farm
  2. Deploy the WSP to all appropriate web applications
  3. Go to the Site Collection you wish to add the popup web part to, and enable the two Features - User Popup Web Part and User Preferences List Template
  4. In the root web of the Site Collection, create a list from the newly added User Preferences List Template - for the sake of this example, name it "Search Improvements Preferences" (the name can be changed, but modifications are required to the JavaScript files to do so)
  5. On a page in the Site Collection, add the User Popup Web Part
  6. Modify the properties of the web part to set the Chrome Type as None so the web part title doesn't show
